Account & login
I'm not receiving my magic link email
VocaDeck uses passwordless login — we send a one-time link to your email instead of asking for a password.
- Check your spam / junk folder. Links from
[email protected]sometimes land there. - Magic links expire after 15 minutes. If yours expired, request a new one.
- Make sure you're entering the same email you signed up with — typos create a new account.
- You can request at most 3 links per 15 minutes. If you hit the limit, wait a few minutes and try again.
Still stuck? Email [email protected] from the address you're trying to log in with.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You'll receive a confirmation email; click the link in it to finish the deletion. All your data will be removed within 30 days.
If you can't access the app, email [email protected] from your account email and we'll delete it for you.
How do I change the language I'm learning?
Tap the language name in the header of any main screen to switch between your existing languages, or go to Settings → Languages to add a new one.
Subscriptions & billing
How do I cancel my subscription?
VocaDeck subscriptions are managed by Apple through the App Store. To cancel:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Find VocaDeck and tap Cancel Subscription.
You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period. We don't have the ability to cancel subscriptions on your behalf — Apple requires you to do it yourself.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Log in with the same email you used when you subscribed, then go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Make sure your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
How do refunds work?
Because subscriptions are billed by Apple, refunds also go through Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides whether to grant the refund based on their policy.
What's free and what needs a subscription?
Reviewing flashcards you've already created is free forever. A paid subscription is required to:
- Generate new flashcards with AI
- Generate reading texts
- Run vocabulary assessments
- Use more than one target language at a time
Using the app
My flashcards or progress aren't showing up
VocaDeck syncs your data to our servers. If something is missing:
- Check that you're logged in with the correct email — flashcards are tied to your account, not the device.
- Make sure you have an internet connection. Offline review works, but new cards need to sync first.
- Try closing and reopening the app.
A translation or example sentence looks wrong
Our content is generated by AI and isn't always perfect. If you spot a mistake, please email [email protected] with the word, your language pair, and what you'd expect to see. We use this feedback to improve the models.
How does the review scheduling work?
VocaDeck uses FSRS 4.5, the same modern spaced repetition algorithm that powers Anki. Cards you rate "Again" or "Hard" come back sooner; cards you rate "Good" or "Easy" stretch further into the future. You don't need to do anything special — just review when the app shows cards as due.
